Mistreatment of D*

On a hot summer day in Texas in 2006 when it was 104°F (45°C) D* brought his dog, Laika, to "save it". Laika was overweight and had 4 inch (10cm)long hair and was suffering in the heat as she was kept outside. This picture was taken just after the haircut. Cut off fir is piled on the ground. After this we took the dog to have it sheared as I could not get the fir short enough with scissors.

Laika limped on her hind legs. D* said his mother had kicked the dog and broke the leg, then promised to fix it but did not. He had written an essay at school about it. He was very upset.

H* and I had agreed that Laika dog would travel back and forth with D*, but the first time Laika went back to H*'s place in 2002, she kept her.

When D* brought his dog, H* reported the dog abducted. I was interviewed by the police.

This section is a non-exhaustive index of abuses that D* has suffered at the hands of H*. This is what H* has been hiding.

1998 04 10 Note, D* was born on this day.
1998 04 13 Baby D* has suitcase Thrown at him H* explains she was aiming at me.
1998 ~09 Baby D* hit by H* as punishment for pooping diaper She agreed to stop.

1999 04 23 D* climbing stove to get boiling water. H* appeared to be watching TV while babysitting. I came downstairs because I heard D* crying. (I pulled the date from my journal, the book shows this in chronology later than it should.)
1999 06 06 Emergency Room Report H* says she didn't hit D*, rather he fell backwards off of a chair.
1999 06 20 Emergency Room Report H* explains D* hit his own head on a wall.
1999 08 08 Emergency Room Report H* explains D* fell off the dishwasher.
2000 ~ H* explains D* hit his head on cabinet door
2000 07 15 Emergency Room Report H* explains D* ran into the counter.
2000 07 27 D* in water puddle running into 220VAC conduit. H* said she didn't know it was dangerous. See H* testimony p160, at bottom Also appears in CPS report. CPS agreed that it wasn't dangerous, though one of the officers declined to demonstrate the safety, even being offered $2000. He worked as a PI for $70 an hour.
2000 ~September D* sites ABCs trying to distract H* as she dumps a dog's mess on dad's head.
2000 11 4 D* head stuffed into pillow while H* screams This incident was documented at the temporary orders hearing in June of 2001.
2000 11 16 D* fed many bottles of Triaminic. NPR had an article that warning of Triaminc. It went on sale at Walgreens, and H* bought a whole bag of them, six or seven bottles. I discovered on this day that they were all gone. They were given to D*. H* says it was only three or four bottles. [Appears to be on tape 2000_11_17_21_50.mp3. Also from my journal. Looking at the NPR archives, it looks like the article was on November 6.]
2000 11 17 Note, marks start of separation.
2001 06 13 Official court transcript of H* testimony on hearing of June 13 She admitted to and corroborated many of the allegations.
2002 01 Marks time of D* returning to live primarily with H*. See chapter 3 for an explanation of the transition. Also see this for more information on events between June 2004 and May 2005.
2002 D* crying at dinner - apparently H* fined him $500 for scratching her car when he ran into it with a bike, and then explained he would be in debt and have his allowance taken for years to come.
2002 D* cried about having had needles in his candy at H*'s place. H* boyfriend says that I planted this incident in D*'s mind due to the word game I played to get him talk. This is not a plausible explanation due to the magnitude of his response and the fact that he told a surprising story. See also H*'s use of psychologists .
2003 08 D* found to have tissue damage in gut. A lot of controversy around this. The doctor suggested it was fructose intolerance. Two of the nurses working for the doctor complained that there was more to it. In the least it is unusual to biopsy a child for fructose intolerance.
2003 08 H* accuses dad of poisoning D* <listen>
2005 03 11 D* gives a painting he did at school to his father. She put D* on the phone to ask for it back to be given to her. transcripts and see index for this item at bottom of page, references also the related emails.

2007 02 20 D* is told by H* he will not see his only friend of the time ever again if he "tells about it", or "finds his voice".
2007 02 20 D* explains he has no sports equipment at H*'s house.
2008 07 D* refuses to return to this mother and she unloads personal insults and threats on him until his face turns red and he cries. It takes three times, counseling, and a lecture by his grandmother that his dad will go to jail if he doesn't leave before he goes back to her - to protect his father.
2009 05 07 D* refuses to return to his mother again the after Christmas. This time H* refuses to answer calls at all. D* is placed in a psychiatric ward where he is isolated, drugged, and exposed to classical conditioning. He is allowed to leave any time with his mother, but told he must stay indefinitely if he wants his dad. This is not the first time.. See also lies H* told to make this happen .
